Welcome to this series of articles on preparation strategies for CAT 2018. Last couple of weeks, we looked at the verbal section a pain point for many CAT aspirant. In this article, let us shift focus to the DI-LR (Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning) section.

If I must pinpoint one change over the last few years in the CAT exam – it is the sharp rise in the difficulty levels of sets seen in the DI-LR section. Comprising eight sets of 4 questions each (for a total of 32 Questions), DI-LR section has emerged as the toughest nut to crack. Sample this – 12 to 13 questions correct would have fetched a 99 per cent tile in this section in last year’s CAT exam, hardly 3 sets out of the eight sets.
