HYDERABAD: Teachers of state-run private schools in the city have raised objection over school managements’ move to collect an excess fee for the Senior Secondary (SSC) examination.

As per the rulebook, the exam fee for regular students appearing for all subjects is Rs 125, while the fee for three or less subjects is Rs 110. For vocational candidates, there is an additional Rs 60 levied over and above the regular examination fee.

While the directorate of government examinations (DGE) has fixed a uniform fee for all schools including the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas and government schools, teachers have alleged that many schools are charging up to Rs 1000, in clear violation of DGE norms.
