A 38-year-old man from Ruckersville is facing serious charges because authorities say he ran from police and then rammed into a state trooper’s vehicle.

Larry Odell Baker is charged with a felony count of hit and run, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license.

The chain of events played out Monday, October 1, when Albemarle County police say they saw a white Chevy Malibu driving erratically.

Officers put out a “be on the lookout” alert for it.

About 1:45 p.m. Monday, deputies with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office saw the Chevy and tried to stop it, but the driver took off.

Deputies asked Virginia State Police for help, and during the pursuit, officers say Baker rammed a trooper’s vehicle.
