CHANDIGARH: The chief minister’s office (CMO) has directed the chief secretary as well as secretary (personnel) to submit status report on reviewing the appointment of Punjab Civil Services (PCS) officer Raman Kumar Kochhar who was selected without a graduation degree in 2016.

Directions from the CMO came after taking note of TOI’s report “When System Shields You” published on September 17. The TOI had reported that it had been two years since Kochhar’s selection was challenged in the Punjab and Haryana high court for not having a graduation degree, but the state government was sitting over the matter and seeking repeated adjournments in the case.
