A local bank set up an account Wednesday morning to help out a Mendon couple after a wood chipper crashed into their home on Providence Street Tuesday afternoon.
MENDON – While driving through town Tuesday afternoon, Charles River Bank President and CEO Jack Hamilton passed by 40 Providence St., just minutes after a wood chipper bulldozed into the home.
“I’ve never seen anything as devastating as that accident here,” said Hamilton, a Mendon resident of more than 17 years.
First thing Wednesday morning, he went to the bank’s Mendon branch office to open an account. Not for himself, but for homeowners Malcolm and Ellie Clifton.
