A Halifax doctor has been suspended for three months after he conducted breast exams without a chaperone, violating a 2013 order related to a complaint lodged against him in Manitoba.
Dr. Juan Rivas, who works at the Family Focus clinic in Lower Sackville, also provided inaccurate information to a Nova Scotia College of Physicians and Surgeons investigations committee about the number of breast exams he conducted.
According to the decision dated Feb. 19the college ordered Rivas on March 27, 2014, to “have a chaperone present for all female breast examinations.”
