Kolkata: The Left trade unions have demanded the postponement of upcoming Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) as one of the exam dates clashes with their proposed nation-wide strike on 8-9 January.

JEE Main first attempt exams are to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on 9, 10, 11 and, 12 January. JEE is meant for admission to undergraduate courses in NITs, IIITs and, other Centre-funded technical institutes all over India.

During a news conference in Kolkata on Thursday by leaders of Left trade unions, CITU’s state general secretary Anandi Sahu said that they are writing to the NTA to defer the JEE in view of the proposed strike.
