Puducherry: Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer) will establish its consultancy unit at a cost of Rs 28 crore at Yanam, Puducherry’s enclave in Andhra Pradesh. The institute will sign a memorandum of understanding with the directorate of health and family welfare services in this regard within 15 days, said a release.

The institute has handed over 10% (Rs 2.8 crore) of the project cost to the central public works department (CPWD) to commence the construction of a new building for the institute to launch consultancy services. The CPWD has assured to commence the project by August this year.
