Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Probationary Officers and Management Trainee Exam acronym as IBPS PO/MT Exam is conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection for selection of personnel for the post of Probationary Officers and Management Trainees in the 20 participating Public Sector Banks.

What are the eligibility conditions to take IBPS PO exam?
Those of you who want to take this exam must possess a degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

As far as the age limit of the aspiring candidates is concerned it should not be below 20 years and above 30 years in the respective year.
Relaxation in upper age limit is as per rules for specified categories including SC/ST/OBC etc.

What is the syllabus of IBPS PO exam?

IBPS PO exam comprises of two stages for written Exam i.e Preliminary Exam and Mains Exam.

The Preliminary Exam consists of questions from

• English Language

Whereas Main Exam consists of questions from
• Reasoning & Computer Aptitude
• Quantitative Aptitude
• General Awareness and

What is the pattern of IBPS PO exam?

A preliminary exam of IBPS PO consists of 100 questions carrying 100 marks and to be completed in 1 hour. It will consist of

35 questions from reasoning ability and quantitative ability each and 30 question from English and each section has to be completed in 20 Minutes individually.

1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer and 1/4 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Candidates have to qualify in each of the three sections by securing minimum cut off marks to be decided by IBPS.

The Mains exam consists of 155 questions carrying 200 marks to be completed in 3 hours. It will topic like

Data Analysis & Interpretation having 35 questions carrying 60 marks and to be completed in 45 minutes.

The English Language having 35 questions carrying 40 marks to be completed in 40 minutes.

General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness having 40 questions carrying 40 marks and to be completed in 35 minutes.

Reasoning & Computer Aptitude having 45 questions carrying 60 marks and to be completed in 60 minutes time.

In the main exam also 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer and 1/4 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

The main objective exam will be followed by Descriptive exam consists of 2 questions from letter writing and essay writing carrying 25 marks and is of 30 minutes.

Marks obtained in the online main examination only will be considered for short listing the candidates for interview and also for final merit listing.

Those applicants who will successfully qualify the mains examination will be called for the next round i.e. Interview Process. This process will consist of total 100 marks and to qualify this round, the general candidates have to score at least 40% and 35% is required for the applicants who belong to SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories.
