Panaji: The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education on Tuesday stated that it is firm on conducting the SSC examination, which has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, unless the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development says otherwise.

The Goa Board also maintained that it is not in favour of promoting SSC students to class XI on the basis of their internal assessment marks supplied by the respective schools, or their performance at class IX.

Besides legal implications in doing so, the Goa Board feels that a student, who might have fared poorly at the class IX examination, could perform very well at the SSC exam, and hence not conducting the SSC exam altogether could do injustice to such…
