What is the exam pattern for UPSC 2017?

It is very wise decision to go for civil services exam, which is considered as one of the toughest exams. there are many other exams like IBPS, Bank, SSC, and another government exam you can prepare for.
UPSC 2017 exam pattern will be as follows:
In UPSC Prelims Exam 2017, candidates will have to appear in two papers– General Studies (Paper I) and General Studies (Paper II), which carry 200 marks each.
Those who qualify prelims exam of UPSC Civil Services Exam 2017 will be allowed to appear in Mains exam of UPSC CSE.
The UPSC Civil Services Mains paper will comprise as many as eight papers of which language papers will be of qualifying nature (600 marks) and the other seven papers to be counted for merit (1750 marks).
General Studies Paper – I 200 Marks
General Studies Paper – II 200 Marks
The written examination consists of nine papers, two qualifying papers and seven papers counted for ranking
Paper A: An Indian Language – 300 Marks
Paper B: English – 300 Marks
Paper I: Essay – 250
Paper II: General Studies-I – 250
Paper III: General Studies-II – 250
Paper IV: General Studies-III – 250
Paper V: General Studies-IV – 250
Paper VI: Optional Subject-Paper1 – 250
Paper-VII: Optional Subject-Paper 2 – 250
Sub Total (Written test) – 1750
Personality Test – 275
Grand Total – 2025
