I am in 11th Standard, Science stream and want to know what are the ways one can join the railways as an engineer. I want to appear for such exams next year.

You can join the Railways in the following ways as an engineer-
1. Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Exam
2. IES exam conducted by UPSCThe jobs offered after clearing RRB are-
Section Research Engineer
Depot Material Superintendent
Junior Research EngineerThe jobs offered after clearing IES are as follows-
Indian Railway Service of Engineers
Indian Railway Stores ServicesTo check the eligibility do check their websites on a regular basis.

If you want to join the railway’s engineering departments, then you need to complete your B.Tech. from any one of the following branches:
- Electrical engineering
- Mechanical engineering
- Civil engineering
- Electronics and Communication engineering
- IT engineering
after completing you degree you can apply for SSE or Senior Section Engineer post.
You also have another option i.e. Diploma course in any of the above mentioned branches and then you can apply for the JE Junior Engineers post.
you can get the study material, books and RRB previous years question papers .
First finish of with class XII exams as it is the base for anything you do in future.

Railway engineering entrance exam details :
Eligibility: Candidates age minimum 17 years and not more than 21 years
Candidate should have passed 10+2 class with first or second division in mathematics, physics or chemistry.
You want to know syllabus and dates of UPSC SCRA exam so unfortunately this exam is already over in month of January. Following is exam dates:
