Hello I am a 2 year student of BBA
Currently I study at amity university
I am also doing a few research projects and internships to apply to different colleges under GMAT.
But I don’t know how to go about preparing for the actual exam.
What books to refer? Are classes necessary? How many hours for self study etc.

It is good to see you starting early, but since you are doing so it is extremely essential that you keep on revising what you have already learnt.
DIVIDE the prep into two parts
    1 Concept learning/ building Time
Learn and understand various concepts of algebra, geometry, grammar etc.
Since you are starting early you have ample time to do the same.

    2)Test taking time
Take a diagnostic test to know where you stand from then on you can work with your weakness and polish them to become your strength.
The more mocks you solve the more you will get an idea as to how your solving pattern should be for the exam
