GMAT 650 Level Practice
The remainder of dividing a number N by 28 is 19. What is the remainder when the number is divided by 7?
The video discusses a standard approach to solve questions when a number is divided by two divisors that are not co-prime to each other. This is an example in which the second divisor is a factor of the first one.
Write the given number in the standard framework based on Euclid’s division algorithm. Any number N can be written as qd + r, where q is an integer, d is the divisor and r is the remainder. r takes values from 0 to (d – 1).
In this question, write N with d = 28. Then divide N written in the standard framework by 7 and compute the remainder.
