MINOT, N.D. — A Parshall couple expecting their second child and were on their way to their first obstetrics appointment were identified as the two of the three people killed in a head-on crash Monday afternoon southwest of Minot.
Marvin Ness, 78, of Douglas was the driver of a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado that the North Dakota Highway Patrol said crossed into the oncoming lane on July 15 and crashed into a 2017 Chevrolet Suburban on Highway 23.
Ness, Jonathan Zacher, 28, and Cara Zacher, 27, of Parshall were killed. The Zachers’ Suburban caught fire. A child in a car safety seat survived with minor injuries.
The crash was about 14 miles south and four miles west of Minot. All occupants were wearing seat belts.
