The online registration process for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2019 will start from January 13. The applications have to be submitted online on the official website, https://www.clatconsortiumofnlu.ac.in
The last date to submit the application form for CLAT 2019 is March 31.
CLAT 2019: Exam date
The CLAT 2019 examination will be held on Sunday, May 12 (3 pm to 5 pm)
CLAT 2019: Eligibility criteria
There will be no upper age limit for UG programme in CLAT 2019.
As regards minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination (i.e., intermediate or an equivalent examination), the candidates must have secured:
Forty five percent (45 per cent) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories
forty percent (40 per cent) marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April, 2019 are also eligible to appear in CLAT-2019 examination. However, they shall be required to produce an evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which they shall lose their right to be considered for admission.
An LLB Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of fifty five percent (55 per cent) of marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories and fifty percent (50 per cent) of marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May 2019 are also eligible to apply.
No upper age limit is prescribed for appearing in CLAT-2019.
CLAT Registrations 2019: How to apply
Log on to the official website, https://www.clatconsortiumofnlu.ac.in The candidates are first required to register themselves at the CLAT-2019 website by using personal mobile number and e-mail IdUpon registration, an OTP will be sent to the given mobile number for validationOnce your mobile number is validated, you can login using your mobile number and the password you provided at the time of registrationPlease fill the form carefully. The Name of the candidate and the parents should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the Certificates/Mark sheets/Identity proof. Any change/alteration found may disqualify your candidature
Note: No change shall be allowed in the preference once the form is submitted by the candidate.

CLAT to be conducted in offline mode:
According to the decision taken in the fourth meeting of the Consortium of National Law Universities (NALSAR) in Hyderabad, the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) will be conducted in offline mode from 2019.
The decision has been taken due to the technical faults experienced in the past years.
As per the official release, “The decision was taken in view of the technical glitches experienced in the past few years. From 2019, students will again have to appear in pen-paper mode.”
Emphasis of consortium:
The consortium highlighted the need to create a question bank and to improve the quality of the paper. According to the press release, “To improve the quality of the question paper of CLAT, the consortium resolved to create a question bank to which experts from all the NLUs and other institutions would be asked to contribute.”
CLAT 2019: Admission procedure
The admission to UG and PG programmes in participating universities under CLAT-2019 shall be completed through centralised online counselling conducted by the CLAT Consortium Office.
The basis of allotment of seats shall be ‘merit-cum-preference’, i.e., the CLAT Rank, the order of preference given by the candidate in the CLAT application form and the category/categories selected by the candidate in the online application form and the number of seats and their division/break-up as available in each of the participating NLU. Online counselling shall start after the declaration of CLAT-2019 results.
