NEW DELHI: “Kisi aur ka result toh nahi dekh liya?” Lavanya Balkrishnan’s mother asked her on Thursday afternoon. The student of Heritage School, Gurgaon, herself could not believe she had 97.8% in her Class XII CBSE exams. What is special about Lavanya’s performance is that she did it against physical odds. Seven students occupied the top positions under the children with special needs category, with Lavanya followed by Nimmi Ved, Nishchay Kohli and Shreyansh Amit Shah in second position and then by Abhishek Narayan Singh, R Hari Shankar and Siddharth Roy.
