Cuttack: A day after the State Government announced appointment of 1986 batch IPS officer B.K. Sharma as the new Director General of Police (DGP) and Head of Police Force (HoPF) of Odisha in addition to his incumbent post of Special DG (Fire Services & Home Guard) and Civil Defence, he formally assumed office at the State Police Headquarters here today.
Prior to being handed over charge by his superannuating predecessor R.P. Sharma, B.K. Sharma was accorded guard of honour on the State Police Headquarters premises as per the protocol.
B.K Sharma will remain DGP in additional charge till further orders.
